Executive Biographies
Ian
M. Paregol, J.D.
Executive Director
Ian offers a diverse, multidisciplinary perspective to his role of
Executive Director at CSAAC. He began his career with CSAAC in
2002 as the first Director of Youth and Children’s Services, then as
Chief Operating Officer, being appointed Executive Director in February,
2006. His 17-year professional career is the culmination of his
diverse background in law, management, and education administration.
Prior to becoming an expert in human services management, Ian’s career
included working with key national political figures in the areas of
civil rights and advocacy and serving as administrative head of private
school programs. In addition, Ian represented children in lead
paint poisoning litigation throughout Massachusetts, and later served
the community through his own private law practice. Ian graduated from
the University of Delaware and received his J.D. from the Dickinson
School of Law in 1989. Ian is a member of the Massachusetts,
District of Columbia, and Maryland Bar Associations. Ian is a

Marcia
Datlow Smith, Ph.D.
Assistant Executive Director of Programs
Dr. Smith has served as the lead psychologist at CSAAC since 1981 and in
addition has directed federal research grants and worked on federal
model program and replication grants awarded to CSAAC. Dr. Smith was
awarded a Mary Switzer Senior Research Fellowship by the National
Institute of Handicapped Research and in 1989, her work at CSAAC was
recognized with the Governor of Maryland’s “Health Care Professional of
the Year” award. Dr. Smith has authored several books, including
Autism and Life in the Community. She has also written book chapters
and peer-reviewed journal articles. Dr. Smith has been an invited
speaker throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.
David
Martone, M.S.
Chief Human Resources Officer
Dave joined CSAAC in 2006. He is a seasoned HR professional with 25
years of corporate, non-profit and entrepreneurial experience.
Formerly, Dave was a Vice President at KnowledgeBank, a consulting firm
providing human resources services, executive coaching and leadership
training to a variety of organizations. Dave held senior human
resources leadership roles at VNU, Inc. (Billboard Magazine), and
Monsanto. He also brings depth of experience from a variety of human
resources leadership and line management roles at DuPont Company. The
bulk of Dave’s experience is an excellent fit with CSAAC, as his
experience centered around attracting, retaining, and developing large
hourly workforces for continuous operations in union and non-union
environments. Dave holds an M.S. in Human Resources / Industrial
Relations from Rutgers University and a B.S. in Business Management from
the University of Rhode Island. He is an active member of the Northern
Virginia Society for Human Resource Management and the Fairfax County
Chamber of Commerce.

Donald Rodrick, M.S.
Chief Financial Officer
Don
joined CSAAC as the Chief Financial Officer in 2009. He brings 25 years
of Business and Finance experience from across the private,
governmental, and non-profit sectors. Most recently before joining
CSAAC, he worked for the District of Columbia Government as an
Accounting Systems Manager, providing oversight and support of fiscal
operations throughout an array of District agencies including the DC
Dept. of Health, DC Public Schools and DC Child and Family Services. He
has also served as the Regional Finance Director for the Church of the
Nazarene World Missions – Eurasia Region in Germany. Don holds a Master’s of Science degree in Finance from Johns Hopkins University.
Don’s interest in human services along with his experience and knowledge
with interagency coordination and operational oversight make for an
optimal fit with CSAAC and its mission.
Ayda
Sanver, MBA, CFRE
Executive Director, CSAAC Foundation
Ayda joined CSAAC Foundation in 2005 as the Foundation’s first full-time
Director of Community Development. Ayda previously served as the
Director of Information and Referral for the Autism Society of America (ASA),
where she administered a Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention-funded autism early detection campaign program, known as
“Learn the Signs, Act Early,” and developed a nationwide autism resource
database known as AutismSource™. In her development capacity, Ayda wrote
grant proposals for ASA. As a former board member of the mid-atlantic
chapter of Cure Autism Now (CAN), Ayda was involved in major event
planning. Ayda’s 20-year professional career includes work in the
areas of nonprofit project management, finance, accounting, and benefits
analysis at IBM, Essential Technologies, and Marriott International.
Ayda graduated with her MBA in Finance from The American University in
1990, and is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals,
Kiwanis International, and serves on the Board of Directors of Shared
Horizons, a nonprofit entity which manages pooled special needs trusts.
Ayda
earned the designation of Certified Fund Raising Professional in June,
2009.
