Require certification from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association; and licensure as a speech-language pathologist by the Maryland State Department of Health.

Speech /Language Pathologist

 

Qualifications:

 

The Speech/Language Pathologist shall meet the certification requirements for SLP

(CO MAR 13.06.01.06.b.15) and hold all applicable full SLP licensure in the state of Maryland The Speech/ Language Pathologist must also be approved for an assignment with students or adults disabled by autism and/or related disorders of communication.

 

Specific Duties:

  1. Ensure that individuals are being supported in meeting their personal outcomes and goals.

  2. Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team for each student as appropriate.

  3. Complete screening and assessments of speech/language, hearing, and voice as appropriate for each student.

  4. Plan and design activities, strategies, and/or task analysis to implement student's IEP goals.

  5. Implement strategies and activities as specified on each student's IEP.

  6. Purchase and make appropriate materials.

  7. Maintain data and records.

  8. Complete monthly and quarterly reports in a timely fashion.

  9. Consult with and coordinate each student's program with all school staff.

  10. Other duties as assigned by the Director.

  11. Adhere to all CSAAC policies and procedures; applicable regulations of federal, state, and local laws; and The Council standards.

 

The Speech and Language Pathologist reports to the Education Director, Community School of Maryland
