Our Legacy of Care for Children and Young Adults

For more than four decades, CSAAC has provided a stable, nurturing environment where children and young adults with autism learn, grow, and prepare for meaningful lives in the community. During the last five years, about twenty students have graduated from our residential youth program and are now enrolled in CSAAC’s adult services, demonstrating the strength of our lifelong continuum of care.

A Proven Residential Model Built for Youth

CSAAC opened its first home in 1979 to meet the unique needs of children and young adults with autism. Today, we operate thirteen specialized homes that serve twenty-five students ages eight to twenty. Our low student to home ratio supports a calm, predictable, and family-like atmosphere where every child is known, supported, and encouraged.

Each home is guided by one of four experienced Program Managers who oversee daily routines, ensure clinical consistency, and coordinate care across all residences. This structure creates stability for children and provides families with confidence that their child receives thoughtful, individualized support.

Individualized Program Plans

Each child and young adult in CSAAC’s residential program has an individually designed program plan that outlines their goals and desired outcomes for the year ahead. Every plan is built around the individual’s strengths, interests, and needs, and focuses on ambitions related to community living.

These plans are created through a collaborative process that includes the individual, their family, CSAAC staff, advocates, and a team of professionals who specialize in autism. This approach ensures that every child’s journey is meaningful, personalized, and aligned with long-term growth.
