On March 13th, CSAAC “Flipped the Switch” to officially launch and start the Solar Phase I Project at the Community School of Maryland Brookeville Campus. This project will put The Community School of Maryland on solar power! CSAAC is working hard to decrease its overhead costs through programs like solar energy. Craig Pardini, CSAAC’s Director of Infrastructure Operations developed the idea of moving CSAAC to solar energy and CSAAC’s Executive Director Eric Salzano and the CSAAC Board of Directors fully supported the idea. Eric and Craig worked together interviewing several different solar companies as well as the implementation plan. Solar will help ensure CSAAC is ahead of the curve to lessen the dollars spent while maintaining sustainability. Solar will help save a significant amount of money that can be used throughout CSAAC in other areas. CSAAC is also helping with the environment. Just this project alone will save 816 trees or 74 barrels of oil in the first year! CSAAC is in the process of launching Phase II that will include the headquarters office and several of its residential homes throughout the county. This also includes electric vehicle charging station for the future electric vehicle fleet.
